Could probably use some more 80's icons, doesn't immediately make me think of that period.

colour would definitely help. the 80s was all about colour.

the clock needs to be bigger. you can have have him break-dancing, or with a boom box on his shoulder. the shirt looks cool, but you can add in a white jacket like in miami vice. and some shades!

throw in some graffiti in the background too maybe

I'm with Chris. I like the black & white because it has so much detail, with color would be too loud (the 80's were loud enough) just take off the lines in the jacket so it would be more of a Miami Vice.

By adding color it would change the look entirely. It's a nice looking line drawing with plenty of contrast, so I don't feel it's necessary. I agree w/ Chris the clock on his chest should be a bit larger.

If I have to make the clock bigger I'm going to have to re-draw the whole thing.

That's not true! You could make a separate drawing of the clock, scan that in and adjust to fit. The chain disappears just below the jeweled necklace so you could reuse elements from that.

the write on blue looks odd. I think you should make the shirt silver and the white silver. make it a one color design. just black on silver

Okay - I made Henrys clock a little big bigger for you.

I also tried out the silver thing that bananapropaganda was going on about.

I still prefer the white on blue, but what do you lot think?

I have to say bananapropaganda - I'm not feeling the silver vibe.

u know those round framed shades that you could flip the dark specs up and they'd be clear beneath? they almost look like mickey mouse's ears, you could have him wearing those.

also on the t shirt under the jacket you can have some 80s band t.

Really nice illustration, I think some work needs to be put into making the title obvious from the illustration itself. The easiest way to do this is to write the title somewhere on the shirt. A more challenging way might be to make him step out of a time machine or add a time-line in the bg with other Henrys. I duno... Play around with it. Be patient. Good luck.

AND this is where working in a vector program comes in handy. It doesn't immediately come off as Henry from the '80s- besides the subtle cues. The graffiti idea (i thought) was a cool idea to get that across.



The color variations-- this one looks more intentional. The previous one seemed like you decided-- blue is fine. Whereas this is integrated into the entire design. It all depends on what you are trying to achieve. If you are happier w/ the previous one, that's fine. It's your image. :)

SWEET STYLE! I think the drawing is fine , but feel like color is a neccessity. Maybe Bright colors for JUST the 80's items... clock and what not. That would put it in contrast with the crown and king apparrel.

Hey I like the simplicity of it. don't over do it. I also prefer it on the blue shirt. the style reminds me of a stussy t-shirt.

Any if you want to try a graffiti style just do a tag behind him. maybe his tag name would be H-eight or Henry could work.

I also like the boom box idea but I don't think there is enough room.

It's really difficult to know which way to take it with so many opposing ideas.

What about the white though? Some people don't like that.

I am down with the white. I don't think there should be color. Like I said I like the simplicity of it.
