I was on vacation (read: college visiting) last week in Boston and I brought all of the shirts I presently owned with me (which is about a week's worth. I ordered more later). On Thursday, I wore my haiku shirt because I was meeting up with a writing buddy in the area, after visiting Northeastern University. I know, clever right? Don't answer that. I took the tour at NEU and then decided to look in the campus center, where I saw a guy walking by wearing the haiku shirt! We stopped and stared at each other, and then laughed at the chances of that possibly happening. He then promoted the school again and recommended a few other places in the area and we parted ways.
Maybe I don't get out much, but I saw more Threadless shirts in my five days in Boston than I have ever back home.On Monday someone was wearing She Doesn't Even Realize (actually, he looked very familiar, but I didn't say anything), and then on Thursday on the harbor, I saw The Communist Party and So Far, This is the Oldest I've Ever Been (the former I own, the latter I don't). I know I'm not the only one who gets a little rush when I see someone else wearing a Threadless tee. Sometimes, it's all I can do not to rush up and say, "I RECOGNIZE THAT SHIRT!!!" Maybe I'm just a moron. But it's still pretty damn cool. about Ballad Of The Birds
I have to go in today to get my senior pictures retaken, because they're too crappy to pay the amount of money I need to to get them printed. So I just put on my Ballad of the Birds long sleeve shirt and black jeans, and took a look at myself in the mirror. There are effing bleach stains EVERYWHERE. My mother is so incompetent at laundry! I've recently started doing it myself, but it's been a while since I wore the shirt (obviously, because it's long sleeve) and she was still doing laundry for everyone then. I can't believe she'd do this, and that she didn't tell me about it when it happened. It doesn't help that the one I have is a damn first print (not that it REALLY matters, it's just a cool thing to have). Of course, because I do my own laundry now, she's going to blame it on me and refuse to replace it! I can't afford to replace everything she's screwed up. Every time she does the effing laundry she always messes up something or other. Once, I had asked her to hold onto a pair of earrings for me, and she put them in her pocket. Guess what? Those jeans went through the dryer before they were returned to me. So perhaps I should have remembered to ask for them back, but seriously, she needs to start showing a little responsibility too. I don't know what to do now. I guess I'll go to the studio wearing the shirt and hope that they'll be able to somehow edit out the stains, because it's not like they don't airbrush everything else about the stupid pictures. Oh well. I guess it's just as well I can't have the casual pose in the yearbook anyway. We can only use the picture with the damn velvet drape. I hate school pictures. There's always too much damn stress. about Missed
Ha, LOVED the line for this on the front page. How boring it is out here....
Four down, countless more to go?
I bought: Damn Scientists The Communist Party Who F*cking Cares? A Caged Bird Dreams ...mostly because they were going to run out fastest. Whee, I can't wait to get this order!
but there are no other flavors in the house.
So I was sick yesterday and still am sick today and I've got nothing better to do except sit here and bitch about the colors of this, the alignment of that, etc. I do have a few design ideas in mind. Conceptually, which would you prefer: a girl under her hat with the pattern floating into the air/oblivion, or a girl with her hair on fire? Who knows, I may end up with both. First, I need to get my hands on a camera. And a stronger immune system.
Wow, well after the shock that people could actually see my extensive wishlist... I'm over it.
I've recently been in the mind of creating a shirt or two, but gosh darn, people can be brutal! We'll see what happens, though I have a feeling it will be "overdone" or "recently printed" or something. Also, a general lack of photoshop could become an issue. I did get paid this week, so perhaps I can get started on that wishlist though... maybe I can get about four or five and still have enough for lunch this week. Yum. Now, which to buy?
So, it isn't a month until my birthday anymore, but this is still a fantasimastic site. And it still has great shirts. Ergo, a wishlist.
