About my design

by tqclay
I know I will not hear the end of it from you guys because of the similarities in style to the classic "Permafrost Pollution" shirt by Viktor Hachmang. I have to admit it is stylistically the same and is in fact inspired by it. Even with all the similarities, I believe that the added statement/meaning has taken such a simple idea to the next level. Hope you like it. Cheers!

I agree, an overdone concept but the execution is pretty fantastic. As you stated permafrost pollution already has the market cornered on polar bears in peril on Threadless, but a nice twist on global warming.

Very clever design, and very poignant. It makes such a big point with such a simple visual. nice work!

nicely designed, but technically inaccurate.

Polar bear populations are increasing, much to the chagrin of fatalists.

Sorry brandon but you need to actually state facts if you're going to try to sound like a know it all. There are 19 recognized polar bear subpopulations. 5 are declining, 5 are stable, 2 are increasing, and 7 have insufficient data.

Considering that of the 12 subpopulations, only 2 are increasing and 5 are declining, I'm going to have to say you're wrong. The most noteable of the 2 subpopulations that has increased are the polar bears in the Davis Strait area of Canada's eastern Arctic which grew to over 2,100, up from 850 in the mid-1980s. One of the major reasons for this was the fact that the Polar bear was placed on a list of vulnerable species. Hunting and expansion into their habbitat was restricted.

I fucking hate people that reject Global Warming...

Oh yeah....btw, I love this design and I actually prefer it a lot more than the Glennz version. This feel of this one is much more dramatic and makes a better statement.

sorry, i'm not usually one to complain when two shirts with the same design have been submitted for voting, but when someone submits a design very similar to one already in print, it's annoying: http://www.threadless.com/product/94/Permafrost_Pollution
