About my design

by Hoopu
While looking back on my child years, I remember playing with praying mantis in the back yard. Just as I was thinking about it, hey "Praying Mantis", with a halo? So that's the story of the "Praying Mantis, Your God".

i dont get it, even after you explained it, i mean i understand you gave it a halo cause people call it a praying mantis, but what makes it something that should be on a shirt or something that someone would want to have on a shirt. i think thats whats been frustrating me about threadless lately. i understand that sometimes its just a cool design, but then theres stuff like this and i just dont get it, like theres nothing great about the design, and the idea is mediocre at best, and definitely not something Id want a shirt. No offense to you, im just a little annoyed with the submissions of late, needed a place to vent. am i the only one that feels this way?

^^ major rant!!! you're absolutely right. like, i never really thought about it but ideally, i really should never find the need to give 1's or 0's. you're right glittering.

Your halo looks like a wig to me. I like the idea behind it though.

Hey, I like it. With all that praying, mantises have to have a few saints.

I like this, it's cheeky. The placement is good too, it works very well. I think it'd make a great t-shirt, it has good flow and would look nice on many different background colors.

I fully love this.

At first I thought the yellow disk was

a frisbee someone threw so hard that

it stuck in the mantis' head. Then

I remembered how some illustrations

have a glow around some saints'

heads. I'm guessing the yellow

disc is glow power emanating

from the insect's noggin.

The placement of the halo is a bit strange, and probably better done as a solid disc of light. The drawing is OK but not compelling enough to save the weak pun at the heart of it.

hmm, perhaps if the halo was filled in?

i think it's a good simplistic design of the praying mantis . . .

I can understand the f illing the halo, I was debatting between with and without the fill. I had it original with the fill, but I chose this. If this gets printed I hope I can go back and fill the halo back in.

The halo simply doesn't look like a halo. A horizontal oval would be more sufficient, I believe.

a halo with fill, and maybe rays coming from it would be better

the placement of the mantis on the shirt is lovely, and i think it really works. but i, too, am troubled by the placement of the halo.
